This event, which is now in its 6th edition, is an initiative of the authorities of Accra through the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, the authority of shippers, to celebrate the institutions which have been able to impact through their actions the initiatives of development and promotion of trade.
Among the winners of this vintage, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso (CCI-BF) figures prominently. Its representation in the former Gold Coast was distinguished for the role it plays with Ghanaian institutional partners and supply chain stakeholders in facilitating intra-regional trade.
To give credit where credit is due, it was the ambassador of the Land of Upright Men, David Kabré, who received the distinction on behalf of the CCI-BF. In his speech, the Burkinabe diplomat expressed the gratitude of the CCI-BF and shippers to all Ghanaian stakeholders involved in the trade facilitation system between Burkina and the country of Kwame Nkrumah. And to ensure that despite the multiple and multifaceted challenges, the CCI-BF and the Burkinabe private sector were able to find the essential springs of their resilience.
While congratulating the Director General of the CCI-BF and his operational team, David Kabré dedicated this award to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who keep the boat flying the Burkina flag afloat in the midst of the torment of the terrorist ocean. One of the happiest of the day was undoubtedly the representative of the CCI-BF in Ghana, Sherif Ouédraogo, a leading actor in the work.
